My last day in NZ saw a tired me, I couldn’t sleep and ended up reading until 3 am. My appetite wasn’t the best when I got up so a cup of tea and a mini-snack would have to do for breakfast.
Being tired and lazy I packed my stuff, watched telly and felt sorry for myself rather than running my one errand, laziness never pays!
When my hostess returned home after the mornings activities, we packed my stuff into the car and started the journey towards the airport, stopping at different spots along the way. One of them being lunch for me.
Next being my favourite shop countdown so could get a souvenir for me and a pressie foe my mum. Unfortunately the present for mother fell through (I hope she can find it her heart to forgive me). I managed to get my souvenir though, a shopping bag that is the perfect size for my bicycle basket.
After another errand and the scenic route to the airport, I checked in my bag and went in search for the post office. At this point my flight is one hour and 40 minutes delayed, I’m unhappy about leaving NZ and just generally cranky. I can also inform you that there are no longer a post at the Wellington airport, or any other means of sending stuff out of their, just as a fyi.
Trying yo raise my spirits as well as taking a moment to figure out what to do, I purchased myself a coffee.
Nothing in life is impossible when you have coffee at your side! It also turned out that sitting down, looking out at the beautiful weather helped me find a spit with free WiFi!
Thus I googled nz post and realized that the closest Post office was not that far away on the bus, airport bus that is, expensive airport bus that is. No matter I got on it, managed to send some stuff home that I wasn’t sure I would be able to bring in to OZ, presents that o didn’t want to risk have taken away and thrown out. I also got a bit of sightseeing.
That’s what laziness did, I could have sent it of in the morning, would have saved me some money, however I would have been super bored at the airport for a longer period of time.
Returning to the airport my flight was even more delayed, now up to two hours. So I got myself a snack!
After what felt like forever, we could finally board the plane, take off and wave bye bye to New Zealand.
When dinner was served I absolutely and totally devoured it.
Chocolate and ice-cream for dessert.
Three episodes of NCIS and some Hollywood scandals later we finally arrived to Australia.
I had plans to be economical and take the bus to my friends place however with a two hour delay and a shitty mood, I opted for a taxi.
