Davidsstjärnor – Kristina Ohlsson

A few years ago I read the book Askungar by Kristina Ohlsson and I was stuck, the moment the next book arrived in the bookstore I got it, and that is how it has continued. A couple of weeks ago I got a picture sent to me from Miss T, she had just purchased the last book by the same author, book number five about the same team of police officers solving crimes in Stockholm. I know that at least the first book has been translated into English and is called Unwanted, I also know that they are available in Danish (for my Danish friends) and I know that I need  to tell you all to read them!

The main characters are special in the way that they are like people in general, the make mistakes, they take the wrong decisions, they are selfish but still caring, they are workaholics with consciences and they solve crimes. You create an attachment to them and when you put the book down you miss them and want to know more about them, you need to know that they will be ok and that they get their happy ending. Thus, whenever there is a new book out, you just have to read it, to make sure that they are still there and that their life is moving on.

I like when you are allowed several books about the same people, it’s alright if they are only in the periphery in some books and main characters in the others, I like when you get to know more. And that might be one of the reasons why I like Kristina Ohlsson’s books so much. They are also very well written, she knows how to build the story in such a way that putting the book away is almost impossible. Thus, make sure that if you like reading in bed just before falling asleep, don’t buy the hardcover; it will hurt when it falls on your face when you fall asleep in the middle of a sentence.

These are not your normal crime books, the crimes are not normal, they are still believable though so not too far out there.

What are you waiting for?!? Go get it!
