From happy anniversary to no power

The day started with my alarm going off way to early, I had forgotten to turn of the Monday to Friday wake-up. I had to roll out of bed, go downstairs to turn it of and then I couldn’t be bothered to go back upstairs. A while later my nieces came down for a bit of a cuddle which is always nice.
After breakfast the little family headed to the lake while I stayed home for some much needed peace as I was to babysit later while the parents celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary. I got a few hours on this baby before the chaos returned.

They all returned at lunchtime and the moment mum and dad were out the door auntie fixed some proper lunch.

And then some less proper lunch.

The whole session worked out fine with some The Little Mermaid, Frost, jumping on the trampoline and some smaller disagreements. My little angels.

The parents then returned from we don’t know what activities and probably don’t want to know, except for the fact that they brought cake. So for the second time in one day we had dessert before food.

We pretty much just finished dessert when the power went out. Most likely due to an extreme thunderstorm that in some strange way managed to hit most of the south except for us (me and brother-in-law are thoroughly disappointed of that fact). Luckily enough we had already planned for a leftover dinner with mostly cold food, the little warm food could easily be heated with the help of the BBQ.

With no power, thus no TV and batteries running low on the phone, I had no option but to finish the book I got yesterday (anything to not read organizational theory).

Five hours later the power returned with hurrays from the whole crew. Another nice vacation day is coming to an end, how was your Monday (wait, it is Monday isn’t it?) ma peeps?
