I find it endearing when someone ask about my Friday morning plans and when learning that I’m available (friends over work when possible) suggest that we meet-up to get some breakfast in me. I’m not a breakfast person but their is no way I’m turning down a date with my favorite Latte Mum if I can help it.
We met up at the Malmö Centralstation that house a nice food court and sat down for OJ and sandwich.
We also noticed some new details in the station, and pretty nice piece of art I’ll say;
As spring is trying to intrude on the harsh Swedish winter we decided to enjoy the sun before it leaves us again and walked the 30 minutes to work rather than the bike, perfect start to this wonderful Friday.
A place that I spent quite some time in when I was younger was the Gotham City Library. For quite some time now they have been renovating it and I have felt a worry that they would do what they’ve done to the Malmö city library; change it so much it no longer feels like a library.
My worry was for nothing though, this morning after spending a couple of hours with mother in class (a lecture on research ethics, think my mom’s school is more interesting than mine), we stopped by the library to check it out. It’s nice, the renovation has improved the old house, added a modern touch but not so modern that it killed the library feeling! Awesome!
Why not stop by if you are in town?!?
As the big family celebration took place this weekend the birthday season is now winding down. The fun part about the big family celebration is that we also celebrate my sister so this time I not only got presents I also got to give, how about a mountain of roses anyone?
The table for the evening was set for 13 “grown-ups” and four little people. It’s nice to have some aunts and uncles and even a cousin around as I still state that I’m the normal one in the family.
With a main of mummy’s chicken and home made cake, the evening was complete 🙂
Now, it might be the end of this year’s birthday season, or might not, time will tell.
Peace out peeps!
Wow, I think I’m setting a new record this year! My German colleague and friend moved back to Germany on the same day as part one of the birthday season. This week she returned to Malmö for a few days of work, and gave us the perfect reason to head out for dinner and good times.
Not to surprising we went to Mosaik which happens to be a favorite restaurant for both of us. She also brought me a birthday present from Germany, super exciting;
Imagine that, you can buy french wine in Germany too. Will let you know how it tastes 🙂
After a weekend with mummy and a day of celebration I thought that it would be a few days until the next part of birthday season, I was wrong! This Monday I got a text informing me that I had a package to collect at the post office. Exciting!!
After a long wait in the queue, everyone seemed to have errands at the post office that eve, I received this brown box with no indicators on it in regards to it’s contents. What’s a girl to do other than jump on her bike, rush home and attack the box with a sharp knife?
Amazingly enough, the box contained one of the things that was on top of my birthday list; the coolest musli jar ever!
I’m out and about early this morning, early for me at least. All this so I can make it to Gotham city in time for lunch with my bbf, the things you do for your friends! Especially the day after you’ve been out on town with a bunch of crazy Germans.
Well, when I booked my ticket earlier this week, the train company had 50% discount on their first class tickets, so guess what I’m traveling in today! It’s been a long time I afforded myself this luxury.
However, the ticket was only 3kr more expensive than a normal ticket and I get free coffee, muffins and fruit so I think that I might even be making money right now.
I’m gonna cuddle up for a sleep now, guessing I have a hectic weekend in front of me as birthday season continues.
Peace out my peeps!
Since yesterday around lunch my back has been hurting like hell. It’s fine as long as I’m lying down. When I walk, sit or bike on the other hand, it’s just hurting like crazy.
I have, as my generation do, googled pain in the back and the internet recommends not resting or lying down, no one should move, exercise and try to keep your back straight (ouch!), so as the internet is always right I tried taking the stairs down rather than the elevator.
Can’t say it worked that well, every time I put my foot on the next step the pain just rushed through my back!
Other recommendations have been painkillers and stretching my bum. Do you have any good ideas on how to deal with the pain? The internet also said that there’s no need to call your doctor until the pain has been around for about two weeks. I strongly hope that the pain will be gone way before that. Maybe a glass of red wine with dinner tonight, wine solves everything doesn’t it?
