Vietnam 2015

Road trippin

Learning from yesterday’s lesson we headed out of the hotel for breakfast even though it’s included and went to the street right next to our hotel, the magical street where they serve breakfast and stay open late to serve me cheap beers.

The plan for today was a temple and some tunnels and we splurged on a private tour rather than a group one, our ride for the day ma peeps;

The temple was beautiful and as I understand it a cult. The pray every six hours for an hour, how can you have time for a life?
Before the temple we stopped at the required tour stop where they were making seashell things that you could buy for an overprice to support handicapped affected by agent orange.

What they did was very impressive and after seeing the affects of Agent orange at the War museum yesterday it definitely pulls your heartstrings. I did resist though, we have almost the whole trip to go and I don’t want to lug stuff around (so note of you want a pressie, I’ll get all of them the last day).
The temple that host a religion that apparently Victor Hugo was a part of creating, must study further;

After the temple it was time for lunch and as it turns out they have a lunch place for the private tours that the bus tours don’t go to. The amount of food as well as the taste was impressive;

Next stop, lucky a while a way since food coma set in, was a visit to some of the tunnels that was built during the Vietnam War. I’m really disappointed that I’m suffering from claustrophobia so I couldn’t go down, I walked down the stairs and walked back up again. The Queen herself did walk through them, and the longest stretch possible as well!

Our driver and guide then brought us back to the hotel so we could ditch our stuff and then walk up to the market, that turned out to be as disappointing as the night before, apparently the main building close at 7pm and the night market is a smaller session held outside. This eve I got to meet a turtle;

Being a tad bit different the Queen herself get cravings for tea and cake in the evening so we stopped by a place with tea and cake, where I had an ice tea before heading to a place with food and beer for me.

I then finished of my evening with two of my favorite things, Beer and Book!

Another fantastic day on vacation, and I hope tomorrow will be as well even though we have a 7:30am pick-up.
Good night ma peeps.
