Vietnam 2015

We are sailing

So today was going to be the start of two chill out days, on a boat, but still chill out. The only thing was a 6:15 pick-up with brekkie on the go…

And it turned out that the drop-off wasn’t by the little chill boat but by a bigger boat (at least I managed to get some coffee in me before we headed out).

It was an angst filled tripp I tell you, we had to go out on open water and the weather Gods weren’t kind. An incoming monsoon we were told later.
There might have been some death angst and tears from my side and I was real happy to put my feet on solid ground and being offered yet another coffee before being put in a car for the chill-out boat.

We got a fantastic lunch;

Let’s pretend that the parts of open water with this boat didn’t happen and that our guide doesn’t think that I’m a complete weirdo for sitting on the floor, smoking like crazy and drinking beer to try and calm my nerves when the waves gets bigger.
The Queen herself went kayaking and I started on my next book, chillin mode on before heading for the evenings sleeping location.

Yes, I’ll be sleeping on a boat, don’t ask me how she managed to convince me to do that, oh wait! I know. It might be something about a private boat, with our own guide, Captain and the little sweet woman that cooks food for just us. Like the dinner we had tonight.

The captain then lured us into drinking ricewine, we even got an applause for downing it in one go.

I’m now in bed, trying to be one with the gentle rocking of the boat that’s safely hidden away in a cove and not close to the ravaging sea. We can actually hear the waves hitting the mountain from where we are, luckily we notice nothing of it.

This post is written on the eve of the 16th of November, let’s see when I’ll have WiFi to upload. Cheerio ma peeps.
