Vietnam 2015

Like night and day

This morning I woke up in the beautiful He Long Bay. Had a light breakfast, checking out the views and visited a fish farm (as well as entertaining our captain with lying flat on my back on the floor when we hit open sea) before heading back to the main island.

Here we visited and old hospital cave and ate another gigantic lunch.

Then it was time for what I had feared since we ventured out to the island before, the speedboat. With the heavy winds the waves where bigger today than yesterday and I wasn’t really looking forward to it.

We sat further back today tough and already when we sat down I started my mental recording in my head; you are safe! There is nothing to be afraid of! You are relaxed! It worked pretty good, what worked the best though (feeling might proud about this one) was; You are on a gigantic roller-coaster, you love roller-coasters! I managed the whole tour without panic, angst or tears!
On the other side there was a guy waiting for us with a car to take us back to Hanoi and the train station. Yes, the Queen herself have taken it upon herself to challenge the train Gods and see if the trainjinx have come with me down here.

Can’t say that the area around the station was particularly fascinating, or nice. We did brave us across the street for a sit-down while waiting for our ticket office to open. After getting our four tickets (that’s what you do when you don’t feel like sharing the compartment with two other people) we sat down at the little snack places on the train station ground.

Watching all the snacks made me hungry and when I spotted the two-minute noodles amongst all the chips and crackers I asked if there was hot water, there was! Thus, after a couple of days with amazing fresh cooked food my dinner was far from it…

Nine o’clock it was time to board, interesting fact that here in Vietnam there is one little locomotive pulling shit loads of carts owned by different companies so if you are looking for trains and they all seem to leave at the same time, this is why.

After receiving our complimentary tea I’m now ready to hit the sack, it’s been a long day with loads of travels.

The trainjinx? Well we left on time, what will happen next you as well as I, will find out tomorrow, me when I wake up. You when I find another WiFi.

Gnight ma peeps!
