I had the best date ever this Valentine, with mother dearest 🙂 beat that if you can!!!
It was us and every single teenage girl in Malmö that sat down for good laughs delivered to us by How to be single.
Of you need to laugh, go see it!
So, from my mum I received tickets to one of the shows, out of 5 million, that we have here in Sweden to decide which song that we’ll send to the Eurovision. It’s a quite important thing here if you exclude the people that thinks it’s silly or embarrassing or just plain stupid (want to remember that my brother-in-law was one of those people until he became the father to a couple of daughters).
To get in the mood for the evening, that’s all about glam and gayness, we actually went and got a couple of boas, white for mother and pink for me. Don’t I just make looove to the camera?
We also figured that burger and a soda is da best dinner when at a glam event!
It just got better when we walked to out seats, my mum unknowingly got us super fab tickets as we sat right infront of the audience platform. So I’ve seen a super cool dress (that weighed 15k) up front…amongst others.
Seriously, birthday season is awesome this year as well!!!
On Friday it was time for the yearly birthday dinner, there was a total of 13 people in attendance including two party crashers…they brought wine and flowers so they are welcome next year to.
I managed to book a table just a week before the occasion and that’s a bit late for a table for 14 people, lesson might be learned for next year. It was a fab table at a place called Lemongrass.
They have a fantastic tasting menu, for starters and two mains.
Some of my fantabolus friends also tried their desserts, and as I tried theirs I can say that the desserts are awesome too.
I’m a bit sorry about the quality of the pictures, I have however a good excuse;
Yep, they are all mine! The one on the left is the proof that Miss Legal has met the perfect man!!!
After dinner we moved on to my regular place down on the corner. Amazingly we found a table where the jackets got piled up.
So did the drinks, especially when we found out that one of the couples had gotten engaged. The perfect excuse to drink more bubbles.
We then moved on to Drum bar, at this time the need for pictures ended, might have something to do with the drinks partaken earlier during the night.
Once again the bday dinner was perfect, good friends, good food and just a nice time. I’m already looking forward to next year!
So I was picked up at 7:20am for a day trip to a place called Örebro. On the way to the airport my colleague was making jokes about the fog and a tiny planes ability to land and take off in it. He shouldn’t have done that as when we entered the airport our plane wasn’t on the screen, and within a few minutes it was announced that we needed to contact ground staff.
As it turned out the plane had been diverted to another airport due to the fog and we were to travel there by car. I have never received a boarding pass for a taxi before, however they stuck one in my hand before we could get in the car.
After about an hour in the car we arrived at Kristianstad airport where they had to open it up for us before checking us in and letting us on the giant plane.
The good part about flying is that you finally get to see the sun and blue sky, amazing for the soul even if it’s only for a short while.
The flight time was shortened to 50 minutes from the original 70 thanks to the drive (?!?!) and we arrived at our destination only an hour later than planned.
Straight to the Örebro office where the staff was waiting, we had about a half an hour session before lunch and then four intense hours after before heading home again. Bye bye Örebro;
The fog was now gone in Malmö and we flew in to the most amazing sunset, that looked better in real life than on picture;
Sitting in the taxi homeward I’m dying to take of my shoes, that for once isn’t uggs and just chill. It’s been real long since I was on a business trip last, and now I remember why it made one so tired.
Peace out ma peeps!
Today it’s actually my birthday, yey happy birthday me, and it has been a fabulous day.
A nice lunch with good colleagues;
Tradition is to bring cake to work. Since one of my colleagues is absolutely fantastic at baking I have successfully managed to outsource the baking to her, seriously check this out.
During the day another friend texted me and asked if she could take me for a pedi this afternoon. Do I have awesome friends or what? Massage chair and someone looking after your feet while you can just sit and chat away about whatever. Awesome!!
Then it was homeward where the best neighbor in the was cooking me dinner, chicken roast. Can the day get any better?
Well, yes! Because there was leftover cake and my fantastic mother sent me flowers;
I then finished the day off with a glass of wine. Technically I said no wine because I’m being picked up at seven thirty tomorrow morning for a little business trip, however one glass is no glasses and two is one.
So now I’m in bed with a good book just chillin thinking that I’ve had pretty much a perfect birthday.
And, not to forget a call with my sister and a card from the mother-in-law 🙂
Yey for being me! Peace out ma peeps.
Me and mother finished the weekend at the movies, the choice fell on The Revenant to see what the fuss is all about.
It’s a brutal movie, and it’s long. Longer than need to be I think, and a tad bit more violent than needed. And a big warning, go to the bathroom before the movie and don’t drink too much during the movie, as there’s a lot of running water during the 2:36h that the movie is on for.
Leo is amazing though, he does deserve that little Oscar man, and hope that he get it so he can go be back to being good looking, charming Leo!!
Another weekend in Gotham has passed, this time to kick off the birthday season. A tid bit earlier than usual due to sister with familys vacation plans. I’m not the one complaining as I love quality time with the family.
Saturday started with shopping for the party with sister, that was done without children, husband and mother – quality time for us!
We started with the important stuff, the beer;
You can’t see from this angle, however there are some non-alcoholic stuff in there as well.
When the grocery shopping was done I went home with sister and enjoyed some chill time with her kids as they showed of their dance skills for a few hours.
The food of choice was tacos and the same chocolate cake that we eat every year.
And since I was taking pictures of the food, the girls wanted to do the same;
And then to one of the best part of bday season, the pressies. I received some really amazing gifts this year, like this absolutely beautiful painting of the Öresund bridge. A bridge that I spent years commuting over as it tie togheter Malmö and København. Having a plastic auntie that can paint is da shit!
I Als received tickets to part two of the Swedish competition that will give us this year’s winner for the Eurovision, Melodifestivalen. This coming weekend I will have my mother visiting and the show will be in Malmö…awesome!!!
There are also books, a cool mood notebook, new lunch boxes (in glass, so fab) and a new wallet. I’m more than happy 🙂
The evening ended with just the family infront of the telly watching this week’s Melodifestivalen.
Birthday season couldn’t have started better.
