It’s nice to be home

Or what do I know? I managed to stay home for one and a half day before it was time to get on a train again. This time for the yearly tradition of celebrating easter in the summer house with mother dearest. So on the Friday I woke up to a differnt kind of breakfast.

After a visit to the grandparents grave we stopped at our, now traditional, truckers stop for some food. I enjoyed myself a real nice shrimp sandwich.

This on our way to the city where we went to see the absolutely amazing movie Zootropolis. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must! And no, you don’t need to have small kids to go. It was nice with some good laughs.

Total quality time with the mother!

Going home

It was an early start with the alarm set for five am. My hosts were very kind and set their alarms for five thirty to wave me of. So after one last breakfast, off I went.

Or should I say we, as my host was kind enough to give me a ride to the very empty bus station.

I managed to sleep most of the ride up and woke up in time to see the massive airport in a distance, pretty cool.

I arrived just in time to manage security, immigration and a quick drive by at the duty-free to arrive at the gate when boarding was in the middle somewhere. Perfect, no point of being the first or the last on the flight.

The food wasn’t as good as the way out, still edible though.

As we arrived in Istanbul on time this time around I had enough time to sit down for some coffee and OJ, as well as checking out some stores before it was time to board the last flight. Which turned out to be an old depressing Star Alliance plane and not the cool new Turkish Airline one.

Arriving home I now have to pass through three passport controls before getting of the train in Malmö, this is due to the Swedish government’s idiocy and lack of knowledge of any other region then the capital one. I also landed to the sad news about the bombings in Brussels airport that happened while I was in the air.

I will admit to making jokes about the Turkish Airline tickets being so cheap due to the bombings taking place in Turkey lately, and somewhere in the back of your mind there is that worry that they might take their bombs of the streets and into the airport. Weirdly and sadly it’s with a sense of relief that it wasn’t the airport that you travelled through that was hit.

It was a rude awakening coming home after a wonderful vacation, that ISIS are still around trying to scare the living shit out of the world in some weird campaign to do what? Scare us all into becoming radical muslims?

I realize that I got of topic, apologize, I want to leave you with this though:

Not all Muslims are radical ISIS warriors. ISIS doesn’t equal Islam, and never meet hate with hate!

All good things come to an end

In one way, since the weather got too hot and I had been away before, I was actually longing to get home. Still, I do like Hua Hin and don’t wanna go home if you know what I mean. I might or might not be back again next week, it all depends on the turns life take.

Last day was like the rest of them, not at all eventful. The evening was spent with the friends parents as the friend already left so the camera wasn’t really out for the dinner and all that jazz. But hey, it was out for the jazz because that’s how I ended my stay in Hua Hin for this time. Jazz in the park.

Jazz in the bar.

I can really miss these jam sessions, whoever wants to play gets to play. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s less good. It doesn’t matter that much because we all have a good time. In Malmö I haven’t even managed to find a good jazz place.

Dinner on the pier

So we headed to the pier to have dinner and enjoy a little bit of cool. This day was horrible as it got to hot and I felt dizzy and unstable so I mostly slept the day away. I loved it when the sun set and I could breath again. And the pier was the perfect place as the wind came in from the sea and made my day better.

And of course the food was amazing, steamed fish in a way we don’t eat it here at home.

And the pictures got less

As the day passes and you keep doing the same things, like finishing another book;

DSC_0677You don’t take that many pictures anymore. Like I know that we went to the sushi place for dinner this night and then after that we were supposed to go to town. Instead some crazy Irish girls managed to lure enough people into a usually empty bar for live music and a proper party.

I even got myself a bucket (for free because someone rang the bell, whoop whoop!)DSC_0683

And the vacation keeps going

Instead of paining you with the amazing brekkies I’ll move on to the snacks, Danish dark bread with perfect tomatoes and cheese…awesome.

Then I might have finished another book…

DSC_0658

Since the days are kind of the same, instead of showing you the pool in daylight you get it in the evening, beautiful!

DSC_0660

I also found out that the amazing Sushi person opened a buffet restaurant, so of course we had to try that one as well.

After buffet we headed into town to visit old friends that I go to know previous years visiting Hua Hin. One of them now have her own bar.

And then there is the rose girls.

DSC_0676I understand that buying flowers from these kids only help the trade grow, and that most of the money go somewhere else. I also understand that us buying them sodas and give them money without getting flowers doesn’t really do anything good in the end. I would love to help these kids in a way where they can go to school, and live a life where they don’t have to spend evenings and nights selling roses and other things. If anyone know about a charity or organisation that helps these kids, please let me know and I will try to sort out some donation.

Third day and the pace is set

You finish another book…

You go out for a fantastic dinner eating what I think one can call authentic Thai food.

Then you go for fantastic jazz music and cold beer.

What I call an excellent day!
