Going home from an awesome vacation is never fun so I was quite pleased when I had the opportunity to extend it with a few hours. This weekend past a Facebook event invite popped up inviting me for a birthday celebration in a Danish Bodega, a personal favorite. So instead of jumping on the train straight back to good old Sweden when I landed yesterday I took the metro in the opposite direction for quality time with Da Teacher and the birthday child, K. I also got to try beer cake for the first time, awesome!!
There were bubbles, Danish flags and of course, Tuborg on the bottle (loads of them too).
I was fairly responsible though, it is a workday today, and took the opportunity to have company home on the train leaving at nineish arriving home and in bed by ten thirty. Thus after a long weekend sleeping most of the days being up all night the sleeping has been normalized and I was up at 7am today. Grown-up indeed. Peace out my peeps.
The last morning has arrived and after a vacation with health sleep-ins all three girls set the alarm this morning to ensure I would make it on time. Mini Me Jr and Lady D were kind enough to drag themselves out of bed to walk me to the metro, much appreciated.
It went surprisingly (and worrying smooth) to get to the airport, and 30 second wait for the metro.
Then a delayed train meaning I made an earlier train to the airport than planned.
My flow continued at the airport except for the check-in, you know that feeling when all the other lines are moving faster than yours, painful.
The flow gave me an hour to waste at the airport, which I did by totally blowing my budget with a healthy serving of McDonald’s.
Now it’s time to find the gate and get on the plane to good old home.
After stopping by another roof terrace, a bit different one from the other day though.
We headed to a small place called 23 (I think) where we got a healthy dosage of flamenco music and dance.
It comes highly recommended and as I forgot to take a picture from the outside that might help identify the place, Lady D said she would organize one for me, so there should be an update here.
On our way home I realized that I still hadn’t had any Sangria during my stay, so that needed to be rectified. Thus, we headed to Placa del Sol and enjoyed a healthy amount of super yum Sangria.
We might have slept in a bit this morning, and it might be such that it was more like after lunch than time for breakfast when we woke up, so for food we headed to a little Indian place.
Instead of sitting in, we opted for takeaway and a bench on the square where Mini Me Jr lives.
After getting some food into our tummies we headed to town where I could be a bit touristy.
As well as sitting down at one of the girls favorite café, that apparently also hosts theater plays that can be recommend. Since I don’t remember the name, location or have seen their plays, you figure it out, however it was a cool place.
Saturday saw a slow start at home and a nice little sandwich and OJ brekkie.
Followed by a coffee in a nice little square.
Followed by a glass of wine in another nice little square.
Then we moved to a different part of the city where I could play tourist for few minutes and take pictures of a church.
Before stocking up on snacks and drinks, climbing loads of stairs and a wall in order to enjoy the last rays of the sun, on one of Barcelonas many roof tops. I have a million pics from the evening, here are some;

After the sun set, our little party moved indoors where we talked, snacked and drank some more before hitting the metro home with a midnight (early morning) snack.
Just doing nothing is the best way of spending life some days, don’t you think my peeps?
Since of course I only hang out with real cool people, we attended a store opening with cava and finger food.
It was a cute little shop.
I did manage to stop myself from buying this;
Then I fell madly in love with these. Can I have one in every color?
No, of course not! But I can get one in yellow.
After being all hip and cool in the little store we went for some more cava in yet another of the nice little places here in Barcelona.
Another fabulous evening in Barcelona then came to an end.
Three girls getting ready take a while so after the coffee and home made juice, it was time for lunch. Today we walked to Placa del Sol with a fancy view;
And a quaint little place;
Where we might have gone a little nuts on the menu with some cod balls.
Tomato with mozzarella.
And then a mini burger each;
And that was just the starters, we finished of with some nachos and some kind of home made guacamole.
The service started out well then just went down hill! If you want a snack, go for it if you want fabulous food and service worth tipping, go some where else.
Since it’s still not the weekend here I’ve been attempting to help out Mini Me Jr with her maths, doing that while drinking wine (because I’m on vacation) isn’t going to great so now the smart and brilliant Lady D is here to help us both!
The day will continue my peeps, will let you know some other time what. Now! In to the fog!
