From 100 to zero and then back again

It’s been very quiet since last Friday, I know. I went home and crashed and boy did I crash. At first I blamed it on a bad PMS weekend, then on Monday when I woke up with a fever I realized it was more than that.

I figured a cold, it will pass. Then for every day that passed and I woke up with a body that just screamed NO WAY! And me wanting to go to work and do my thing, I just had to accept that I was out for the count…and no matter how much I wanted to, last week is one of those weeks that I can just add to the “nothing is going on here what so ever” weeks.

Since earlier I had plans to go to the summer house and hang with mother dearest for the weekend. I even had a rental car booked to get things transferred to mother and the summer house. Sleeping away half of Friday I had to realize that there would be no driving that day instead I took the train. That amazingly enough left on time and brought me where I wanted to go on time.

Friday night also brought proper food for the first time in a week, yey!!

Then, as me and mother love ice hockey as much we went for a game, not the usual team but still a good distraction even though I almost fell asleep during the third period, my booty still not up to speed.

All in all it was a good weekend and finally today I was back at work, only to realize that pretty much half the team I work in was out for the count.

You can say what you want about being sick, it never fits the schedule however, last week I had two meetings planed for the whole week and the rest was to be me time. And yes, it stressed me out not being able to do my thing.

Still, this week kicked of with a full day training session and tomorrow is travel time, bringing me back home on Thursday night and Saturday is part 1 of this years birthday season.

If I had to be sick, last week was the week to be so, I have a crazy (still exciting) schedule coming up, so I hope it’s all over and done with!!

Need to decide what to do with the run schedule though, what you think, start over or start where I left off? Expert opinions welcome ma peeps!

#19 2018 Just an ordinary Friday

I left you yesterday with my magical run, after that it was back to work like the diligent little worker I am. Then afterwards I met up with Mr Grumpy II for some yum, yum.

IMG_20180118_174102.jpgThen after a quick snack I met up with one of the colleagues for Pub quiz…where I had so much fun (and we did real good, the winners scored 25 and we had 22) that I totally forgot to take pictures.

Even though it didn’t end up being a late night, I still accidentally turned my alarm off this morning and did a rush to work (past 7/11 for coffee since I forgot to set the coffee maker last night). In the rush I also forgot all about smoothie and lunch so I had a good excuse for sushi lunch, not too shabby.

IMG_20180119_115207.jpgSince it’s Friday and I was sent a free gift in the coffee place app, why not another fancy coffee before heading back to the office to sit of the rest of the day?

I did a fairly short day today as my couch was calling my name, and that’s where I spent the evening. Feet up, watching crap TV while playing quality games. It’s what I call the perfect Friday eve, even when friends are trying to convince you to come out and eat dinner at your favourite burger place, the couch wins!

#15 2018 The trainjinx strikes again

Last night I was lulled into a false sense of security as the train left on time and the trip went real smooth, until…right outside of Lund which is about ten minutes out from home station. All of the sudden the train just stopped, and we ended up standing still for about half an hour before rolling again. Thus, a late arrival home with 35 minutes.

IMG_20180114_183746.jpg

I have started counting the time spent due to delayed trains, it’s going to be interesting to see how much it actually adds up to. If you are reading this on a mobile device you can see the total at the end of the post, on a computer it’s on your top right hand side.

Delayed trains

This morning I had to get out of bed even if I easily could have slept another hour (always have some troubles sleeping when arriving home late on the train, adding on to the normal problems with falling asleep that I have) in order to walk to the police station and get myself a national ID card.

I will be travelling to Germany pretty much every other week this spring and I don’t want to have to remember my passport every time.

Before heading out the door I did, in my very sleepy state, remember the smoothie and coffee. I’m proud of myself for sticking with it…healthy and economical and all.

#14 2018 How a Sunday AM should be

Close to mothers there’s the café where me and the old neighbour meet for lunch and as it turned out they also do Sunday breakfast.

IMG_20180114_121723.jpgIMG_20180114_121703.jpgI see a new Sunday tradition while visiting mother dearest coming up, as it was price worthy as well. Food always taste better when someone else cooks it, don’t you agree?

#11 2018 One of THOSE days

Not much went my way today.

I didn’t get out of bed when I wanted to, even though the running is on and the mood is getting better, I’m still having troubles going to bed (no problem sleeping once I get there though). That creates problems in my scheduling as I naively think that tomorrow is the day…so I had to flag the running session I had planned.

So the morning rushed past, still managed my homemade smoothie though, at the home office before a visit to the ladies doctor (not my favourite, not as bad as the dentist but totally up there with things I don’t enjoy) who did her thing then promptly informed me that she’s about to retire. As I’m quite fond of the lady (even though she’s a ladies doctor) I didn’t take the news too well.

Then it was back home to pick up the stuff that I totally (not) packed last night before heading in to the office, where I promptly enjoyed my fantastic lunch.

IMG_20180111_121103.jpg

The positive thing is that work is finally picking up again, the less positive is the Monday deadline that suddenly appeared. With a half-day planned tomorrow, that’s going to be interesting as the afternoon swished by.

Before finally sinking down in a comfy train seat I needed to pick up some more food and headed to Subway where I ended up behind the kind of people who stand in line for ever and still don’t know what they want when it’s their turn. Absolutely fantastic as my departure time got closer and closer.

IMG_20180111_164940.jpg

I should’ve known there where no rush as there was no train once I hit the platform. And then there was no train, and no train. Well, after about 20 minutes the train arrived and we were allowed on. Delayed train on single track stretches are the death of me since you constantly end up behind slower trains…slooooow trains.

We finally arrived to Gotham about 51 minutes later than the original arrival time, with delays like that I rather it be a full hour, since then you at least get some money back on the ticket.

That delay also killed all hopes about a late nite run, as it was just too late and I was too tired. So I’ve just spent the rest of the night on mother dearest couch in front of the telly, with the hope of a better tomorrow that includes a run.

#10 2018 From blue skies to gray clouds

Lucky me yesterday, running is easier when the skies are blue. The rest of the day was full of positive energy so I ended it with a proper celebration. Never overestimate the power of bubbles!

IMG_20180109_180746_440.jpgThe whole energy thing spilled over to today as well, this morning I didn’t only remember to bring a smoothie to work – it was a homemade one. I present an old classic: orange juice, banana and Spirulina.

IMG_20180110_092235.jpgI wish I could say that it looks better when it’s all mixed, I just can’t…

IMG_20180110_092544.jpgWhen it came to lunch, I forgot to bring it and then I had troubles to find someone to keep me company when it was time to eat, buhu me. So instead I opted for a lunch on the go, the choice of food was bad, the on the go was good.

I picked up a chicken Cesar wrap that started out good, it’s just that half way through I found the dressing, all in one big lump. Absolutely disgusting I tell you.

IMG_20180110_120221.jpgI will never buy that again, that much I can tell you (and if you are in Sweden, I bought it at Pressbyrån…) however I did manage to get my errand done. You see, I have this big problem. Package delivery here in Malmö is done to small kiosks, and at some point last year they changed the delivery point from somewhere almost too far away from home, to a place that is totally too far away from my home.

Thus, it always take me quite some time before I get around picking up the packages. This time it was my math and bookcircle books, books that I need, not in the near future but now.

IMG_20180110_124623.jpgThe math course starts on Monday and the next book meet is the week after so need to get going. I also missed pretty much the last six months of book meets due to work and crappy mood so I really, really want to attend this time.

Well, that was my day. Right now I’m sitting in my chair, watching TV, pretending to pack and clean…

And lets all hope for some more blue skies tomorrow so I can stick with my running schedule.
