Another week another 7:ns

I did fairly well on last weeks sevens, according to me. In hindsight I shouldn’t have put that going to work didn’t count as a grown-up thing, because it really is and I do it five days a week, wich mean I should only have to do two more grown-up things during the weekend. Lesson learned!

I was also a tad bit shaky on the positive thought thing, should probably put a reminder in my calendar, because it’s not that I don’t think positive thoughts I just forget to share them with the world.

Regarding the exercise bit I have a while to go, I managed to flag yoga not only once but several times, and I was good at finding excuses to not walk the long way home from work. Need to work on that because my booty needs it…even if I did find this perfect for me pic on Facebook (yes, I’m a BIG fan of Wordporn).

So to this weeks sevens, let’s do a couple of repeats to see if it works better this week…edit as I realized I copied 6 of 7, let’s not do repeats, no fun.

  1. Buy christmas presents (and wrap them), it is Christmas on Sunday after all, and I guess the family have been nice enough (except for auntie that says she doesn’t want any).
  2. Be properly prepared for grown-up eve on Tuesday. I have a bad habit of inviting people over, kind of forget all the work that needs to go into it and then have to wing it. So today after work it will be all organized!
  3. Unpack all my suitcases. I will admit (albeit embarrassing) that I’m real good at just grabbing another bag rather than unpacking the one from the last trip when it’s that time again, and then they end up on my livingroom floor where I grab stuff that I need out of them as time passes by.
  4. Not wait until Friday morning (leaving Friday midday) with packing for the holidays. (All my bad habits are seriously coming out on this blog, don’t they?)
  5. Do something nice for another person, one time…not everyday…people might start confusing me for a nice person then.
  6. Start project “Cleaning out the walk-in closet” (btw, still the most read post on this blog), would be nice to start the new year with a cleanse.
  7. Be happy with myself! I have a tendency to focus on the things I don’t do or get done instead of the things I actually do, so let’s try to change that at least for this week.

Lets practice for the new years resolutions…

Sitting with my pink toy realizing that I’m out of excuses to not blog, as me not liking the phone app and my old computer being broken is what I used to myself for an excuse. The real reason being that I’m kind of bored with my life at the moment and to blog every day about waking up, going to work, going home and then having problems falling asleep, is kind of boring.

However, if I had been blogging it would have been a reminder that none of my days actually look like that. I do do other stuff as well. I mean, since my last blog post (wich was the first day in Las Palmas) I spent another ten days enjoying the sun, been to Gotham and celebrating my grandmothers birthday, been bowling with my Mentee, been to Germany visiting the christmas markets and eating good food, hung out with friends, bought a new computer, managed to clear even more from my apartment, found out that one of my friends from down under is coming for a visit in May, met up with Mr Grumpy Jr for the first time in a couple of years…

And that’s just some of it. So I should probably snap out of it and remember that I have a pretty good life. Instead of being on a constant downer, I should enjoy it! So what better than another sevens list to get me in the mood for coming up with new years resolutions?

  1. Do one grown-up thing a day (going to work doesn’t count).
  2. Try the #positivethoughtoftheday again, it was fun while it lasted the last time (you can find those pics on my Instagram)
  3. Sleep! I’ve had real problems with sleeping lately so it’s totally time for a change, in bed in time so I can get up in the morning.
  4. Yoga…I mean, I did buy a clip-card for the yoga studio, so I might as well use it.
  5. Instead of walking straight home, I want to walk the long way home, aiming for at least a 20 minute walk home everyday (I live ten minutes from the office, which is a tad bit too close).
  6. Since I’ve been on a downer I have also been lazy with cooking, which is silly because cooking relaxes me. So this week I wanna bring lunch to work, that means that I have to cook it the day before.
  7. I’ve never been a brekkie person (except for when I stay in hotels) I feel like I should at least get in the habit of a smoothie in the morning. I will start with the lite version and get the ones from the store, with the aim of making my own in the future…

All I do is eat 

Getting up at 7am to be somewhere at 8am is totally killing my groove. Still, I can be like a proper famous blogger and tell you that I’m working on a project that I can’t tell you anything about, and it’s totally killing my groove. I get up, end up at work, eat lunch…

Has totally fallen for this Apple and bacon salad from Salads & Smoothies (or is it the other way around?


Then I work some more, eat fruit, snacks and drink way too much coffee and not enough water (even if I try to remember by putting it in my calendar).

Today after work I went straight to the gym, and a proper blogger would’ve taken awesome toilet selfies in gym clothes instead I have a pic of the chocolate I picked up on my way home from the gym. You can see my yoga pants in the background. 

Even though I now know that my mum can handle the angry like on Facebook, this wasn’t, as I might have said, my dinner for the evening. Instead I spent hours slaving in the kitchen making fresh pasta.

Hahahah, no! I bought that in the same store as the chocolate, together with one more pack that I can have for dinner tomorrow. I miss my own home 😦

Well, 10:30pm and I’m totally hitting the sack. Another long and crazy day tomorrow with morning plans, workshop at work, afternoon plans and I believe, a great longing for vacation…

It is Monday after all

I have to start with, 500hrs, whoop whoop! Yes, my life revolves around the fact that I quit smoking right now…

I was a good girl and brought leftovers with me to work, Fake fried chicken (it has to be eaten after all the work it took me to sort it out). The past few weeks, I’ve been out eating lunch almost every day, you can follow the lunch chronicles on Insta if interested, and not only does it cost money it gets boring.

My colleagues are starting to return from vacation, so the office isn’t as empty anymore. And with the collegues returning another nice moment of the day is returning as well, Fika. This day my colleague brought some Fika to celebrate his birthday, of course no excuse is really needed.

Then it was time for my now traditional visit to the gym, still with the normal schedule there is time for me to head home from work and I figured I would bike to the office. The bike gods didn’t agree. I think one call it a flat tire…very flat. Walking it is.

Last day of week 3

Tomorrow week 4 starts, when I’ve gotten through that I’ve been smoke free for a month. For some reason managing a month is like a magic goal for me, not sure why.

It’s also going to be an interesting week as it’s PMS time. A week of the month that’s usually rough to get through and now I need to do it without my beloved nicotine.

If I can manage this week, I can manage the rest of my life, no problem!

So, all I need to do is put my head down and work through it!

Monday: work + yoga
Tuesday: work + test run for the race on saturday
Wednesday: work + activity in the evening with a nonsmoking friend
Thursday: work + no evening plan! need to sort this out **update**favourite Latte Mum wanted to meet up, Thursday worked for her**
Friday: day off work, just because I can + Body Balance
Saturday: 10k race
Sunday: hopefully a flea market

I can do this!

My Monday tradition 

With new office came quit smoking and a new gym membership. The gym is just around the corner from work, and only five minutes from home, so no excuses.

The past couple of weeks the summer schedule has been on and that ment 17:00 pilates class and then sushi dinner picked up on my way home.

Now with the summer schedule gone so is my Monday 17:00 class which is a bit of a bummer as it worked out so fab. Instead there’s a 18:50 yoga class.

I did go yesterday,the timing is a bit off, too late to stay at work and not enough time really to do anything in-between work and workout. I think I will survive this conundrum, maybe, it’s a though one. At least the sushi place is still open when I head home.

And the yoga was fantastic – exactly what the booty needed.

Day 3 of 30

I didn’t fall asleep until 4 am, so waking up this morning was a struggle, think it was around 9:30 before I made it out of that cosy bed, not even close to the 8am goal. It is my third day in a row with morning yoga, and I have to say it is a real nice way to start the day. I’m starting to get into the flow of the movements now as well so they are doing more and more good. This is a routine that I will make a real effort to stick with.

Today’s breakfast was a healthy serving of oat porridge with applemush and milk, and then I was ready to take on the day!
Brekkie
After a rather slow morning doing boring stuff like making sure there is enough money in my bank account to pay this months bills and the like, I actually got dressed and left the apartment for a forced shopping trip. You see, over the past few months I have managed to gain some weight, wich means that I now look like a normal person rather than a skinny bitch, this also mean that I have gained a bra size, which kind of sucks. I have moved into one of those sizes where they no longer make fun and cool bras so you pretty much have three colors to choose from, white, black and beige. It also mean that they don’t look that great, they are more practical than anything else. Either way, they had to be bought as my breasts fall out of the current ones I have, not to comfy.Shopping

Going out for a walk in the middle of the day might not have been the best idea as it’s gone from pouring rain yesterday to scorching sun today, either way, I got my daily “get out of the apartment” done.Walk

The one thing that is most important for me to stick with is the eating, when I’m not super happy I have a tendency to stop eating, and blessed with good metabolism as I am, the kilos fly away in a speed that most people would kill for. Now that I have managed to gain weight I will be damned if I lose it again, so no matter what, eating has to be done. Thus, lunch today is a sad so-called vegetable soup that I whipped together basis on what I could find in the cupboards at home. Not super exciting, but good enough!LunchWhile waiting for a friend of mine to arrive from far, far away Copenhagen, I took to the park with my book, blanket and coffee to just enjoy life a bit.

When my friend finally arrived (a little bit later than planned) my fridge filled in a way I don’t think it have been many times, I would say enough food for two people for a month rather than a weekend!The fridgeThe funny part is that we sat down with a glass of wine before starting with dinner, then we started talking, you know the way you do, and then all of a sudden it was bedtime and dinner totally forgotten! Oh dear!
